I found that article a few weeks ago. We are all tired of listening "do-what-you-like-and-you'll-never-need-to-work" stuff, but actually there is much more than that to think about.
Did you read it? What do you think? I absolutely agree that "doing what you love and living a life you love is not the same".
The education we receive is one of the factors, but definitely not the most critical one when choosing a career. Neither the money is. The dynamics nowadays make us change our job more often - people jump from one business to another, start learning something totally different from what they've learnt and undertake things in totally different direction.
According to the popular IKIGAI concept, people take the decision based on four main questions: what I love to do, what the world needs and I can give it, what I am good at, what I can be paid for.
I found an interesting video from TEDx Talks. It presents another approach to found out where to focus your career by answering these three questions: what am I good at, what people tell me I am good at, what is holding me back.
"Choose your lifestyle, your values and your goals and your career choice will follow."
"Do something YOU ARE! Not something you just love."
