Being yourself is the essence of personal branding. It is shown in the way we dress, the way we talk, the way we make others feel. Personal branding lies in the way we live life in general. This is our true nature. It is something that evolves as we evolve. Whether we realize it or not, we all have a personal brand and we can control it. That is clear for everyone... But how often do we make a revision of how we present ourselves to the world?
Personal branding extends beyond our interests. It also includes how we make others feel. I think this is one of the most underestimated aspects of personal branding. We tend to focus on ourselves, but if we're not making others feel good, we're neglecting a fundamental aspect of how we present ourselves in the world.
No matter how 'shiny' profiles we have on social networks, how successful we are, how beautiful and happy we look, personal branding would be zero if behind our image there are no stories in which we have helped someone, changed someone's life for the better, we've given someone a hand, we've inspired someone one day... I'm talking about this aspect of personal branding.
Personal brand does not only include quality and standard of living, style, appearance, career...
It also includes everything we have done or not done to others. Being good, being an example, being inspirational, supporting, uplifting... isn't that the most important aspect of personal branding?!
If you happen to meet someone outside and they give you the biggest smile in the world, you may have done a good job with your personal branding. The most valuable product of personal branding is the value you create for others and the feeling of gratitude.
